Bearing infrastructure is the answer to the practical question underneath navigability: if the model refuses to supply anyone’s destination, what must it supply so that people can find their own?
Bearing is not willed into existence by telling people to “find their purpose.” It has preconditions — and where those preconditions are missing, the freedom to choose a direction is hollow.
So the model treats individual direction the way it treats aliveness or standing: as something the ecology structurally underwrites. The infrastructure resolves into a six-layer stack — ground, signal, horizon, navigation, course-correction capacity, and responsibility for the wake — each layer resting on the ones beneath it, so that a person told to “choose a meaningful direction” while unable to make rent is being mocked rather than helped. Because each participant’s direction is one input into the direction of the whole field, bearing infrastructure is not welfare toward individuals but the construction of a civilization’s steering capacity.
